Staff and Training

All our staff are trained with recognised qualifications enabling them to act as supervisor or assistant. Staff continue to update their training through attendance at day courses and from guidance received from the Pre-school Learning Alliance, Somerset County Council or Ofsted. Each session at St. George's Pre-school is led by a qualified member of staff. Training certificates are on display in the pre-school for viewing.

Ratio of Staff to Children

Each session is staffed by a supervisor and two assistants. There is a maximum of 12 children in each session, giving a ratio of staff to children as 1:4.

Keyworkers

Each child has their own keyworker who is there to work with the child and their family to help them get the most out of the pre-school, making it a positive and enjoyable experience. A keyworker can help with queries and try to ensure the child is accessing all areas of pre-school facilities to help them develop and have fun.
