What happens at pre-school?
So that the children settle into pre-school easily and confidently, we try to make the pre-school feel as much like a home as possible. The rooms are laid out with various activities and equipment enabling the children an opportunity to express themselves and develop through play. Each session is organised as follows:
1. Pre-school opens. Children settle into free play activity of their choice. Parents are welcome to stay and play at any time.
2. Tidy up and pack away time.
3. Outside play.
4. Visit to the bathroom.
5. Break time.
6. Structures activity time linked to termly curriculum plan based upon the Foundation Stage Guidance.
7. Circle Time. Music and story.
8. Parents/Carers arrive to collect children.
Afternoon sessions run along the same format. For those children staying for a whole day, lunch begins at 12:00 followed by a quiet library and story session. To read further information about the pre-school day please view our prospectus.
Outings and Events
Each term we take the children for local walks. This might involve walking up to the church, local shop, village hall or even down to the woods. Annually we have a Christmas Party, Easter Picnic, Summer Trip and a Teddy Bears Picnic. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join in on these events.
